Who runs this and how to reach us
RateThePropFirm is a specialist review site for proprietary trading firms. We index trader-sourced reviews of the firms you pay to challenge.
If you have a privacy question, a correction, or a rights request, write to desk@ratethepropfirm.com. One trader runs that inbox. You will get a human reply.
What we collect
Account info you give us: email, a display name, a password you set. Nothing else is required to post a review.
Review content you submit: your TrustScore for the firm, your written review, any proof of funded account or payout screenshot you attach to back a claim, and the firm you are reviewing.
Server logs: IP address, user agent, request path, and timestamp. Kept 30 days, then dropped. We use them to block scrapers and abuse.
Two cookies. That is the full list.
What we do not collect
No cross-site tracking. No ad network tags. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no third-party fingerprinting script of any kind.
No sale of your data. We do not share your email, your IP, or your reading habits with brokers, affiliates, or the firms you review.
No tracking of which firm pages you read while signed out. The site works without a login, and we do not profile anonymous traffic.
How your review appears
Your display name is public. Your email is not. Nobody at the firm you reviewed can see your email through us, including when they post a response.
Proof you upload to support a review (funded-account screens, payout confirmations) is kept private by default. We review it to verify the claim, then store it alongside the review for dispute handling. We do not publish screenshots that show full account numbers.
If you edit or delete your review, the public page updates within minutes. Deleted reviews are purged from our database within 30 days.
Cookies
Two cookies, both first-party, both strictly necessary. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no banner to click away.
rtpf_session — HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Holds your signed session token. 30 days.
rtpf_user — your display name, so the header can greet you without a round trip. 30 days. Readable by the page; contains no password or email.
Your rights (UK and EU)
If you are in the UK or the EU, you have the right to a copy of what we hold on you, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to object to processing. Email desk@ratethepropfirm.com and we will act within 30 days.
Deleting your account removes your email, your password hash, and your display name. Your reviews can either be deleted with the account or kept with the display name set to "former trader" — your call at the time.
Security
Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes with a per-password salt. We never see your plaintext password and cannot email it back to you.
Session tokens are signed with HS256 and bound to a server-side secret. A stolen rtpf_user cookie cannot sign you in on its own.
Every request to the site is served over HTTPS end-to-end. HTTP requests are redirected before any cookie is read.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we handle it, we update this page and move the date at the top. Material changes also go in a short note at the top of the home page for a week.
