The rules for posting, replying, and reading the firm pages

Plain-English rules for using RateThePropFirm, posting trader-sourced reviews, and how we handle takedowns.

Who we are

RateThePropFirm is a specialist review site for proprietary trading firms. We index trader-sourced reviews, TrustScores, payout notes, and open disputes. Our tagline is simple: Honest prop firm reviews, by traders.

Reach us at desk@ratethepropfirm.com. If you need a legal address, ask by email and we will send it. These terms govern your use of the site. By browsing or posting, you agree to them.

Your account

You can read the site without an account. To post a review you need one. You confirm you are 18 or older and that your login details stay yours alone.

One trader, one account. One review per firm. If we see duplicate accounts voting up the same firm, we close them and strip the reviews. We can suspend an account if we see fraud, scraping, impersonation, or coordinated posting.

Your reviews, your copyright

You keep ownership of what you write. When you post a review, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, format, translate, excerpt, and display it on the site and in related material (search results, feeds, firm pages, press mentions). The licence lasts as long as the review is live and for a reasonable archive window after.

You confirm the review is your own words, about a firm you actually traded with, and that proof of funded account or challenge receipt can be produced on request. Fabricated screenshots are grounds for removal and a permanent ban.

What you cannot post

Keep it a review, not a weapon. The following gets pulled on sight:

  • Content you did not write, or reviews bought, traded, or incentivised by a firm or an affiliate
  • Personal data about staff: home address, phone, private messages, photos
  • Threats, slurs, or targeted harassment
  • Allegations of crime without evidence you can show us
  • Promotional links, referral codes, discount pushes, or signal-service pitches
  • Content about a firm you never traded with

Firms replying to reviews

A firm can claim its profile and reply to any review. Replies must come from a verified work email on the firm's domain. One reply per review. Firms cannot edit a trader's review, pay to remove one, or demand a review stay down because it hurts.

If a firm believes a review contains false facts, it can open a dispute from the profile. We review the proof from both sides. If the trader cannot show a funded account or challenge receipt, the review comes down.

The site is provided as-is

TrustScores, payout notes, and dispute counts are editorial signals, not financial advice. Prop trading carries real loss of capital. Do your own checks before you pay for a challenge.

We work hard to keep the site accurate and up, but we do not guarantee it is free of errors or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for trading losses, missed payouts, or disputes between you and a firm.

Takedowns and legal requests

Think a review is false, defamatory, or infringes copyright? Email desk@ratethepropfirm.com with the review URL, the specific lines in question, and your evidence. We reply within 7 working days. We will not remove a review just because it is negative.

For court orders, data requests from regulators, or law-enforcement contact, use the same email and mark the subject LEGAL. We keep a short log of who asked for what.

Cookies and changes

We set two first-party cookies: rtpf_session to keep you signed in, and rtpf_user to remember your display name. No ad trackers, no third-party cookies for marketing.

We can update these terms. Material changes get a notice at the top of the site for 14 days. Continued use after that means you accept the new version. Last updated: October 2026.
